The hike wasn't all that bad, only a few miles up and downhill. I felt like there needed to be more I guess. Potato chip rock was really cool. It was an inch thick and could hold more than five 100 pound kids. Amazing. I think I was proud of my friends for making it with no water half the way up. Wyatt and Josh, its a long story. I thought learning how to rock climb with absolutely no ropes was fun and a huge challenge. I helped my group by, carrying all of their stuff, 1 lunchbox, 1 cinder block (Fehung's lunch was really heavy for a lunch), and 3 notebooks.

Mount Woodson Fieldtrip
Rattlesnakes
I'm going to try to find a rattlesnake on the field trip to mount Mount Woodson because I think it would be a good experience, and want to see every ones reaction. I would no. I think snakes are somewhat interesting.think I would find that funny. I'm sure lots of other people are going to choose rattlesnakes, or at least Fehung. I would also want to find a rattlesnake because, well I don't want to. I want to try to test my, courage sort of. The rattlesnake in the picture, well I really don't want to meet in person. The venom, the fangs, and the look of the snake scare me.

Where Jacobs from
I am From baseball From Easton and DeMariniI’m from the windows and walls that
separate me from the World
I am from the Oak tree in my backyard
The old thing keeps growing
The leaves ever changing
Smelling oddly like pine...
I am from a lonely Cabin that smells like candles
in the woods and the crazy skills at sports
From my Mom and Dad and my Brother
I am from the Competitiveness
and Forgetfulness
From “Try harder” and
“Don’t annoy your brothers”
I am from Writing Bible verses 100
Times to remember them
From the Sunday church
I am from the Naval Hospital in Balboa
From the cuts and bruises my dad received at war
From the Experience my Grandfather received on the
Cardinals
I am from the Pictures in the multiple
Shadow boxes in my loft holding
My Ups and Downs, holding Memories of my early days
The medals and historic items that are
Hidden in all of the pictures.
From the laughs I had in those memories
All just floating away,
From those game-making plays trapped
In those boxes hold nearly everything of my life
Those boxes.

My life in numbers
(Extended questions)
1. What are percents useful for?
Percents are useful for all sorts of things, from sports statistics to shopping discounts.
For sports statistics, you could have 2 of 4 hits in a game, in baseball stats that would translate to 500% average, usually you would use 100 as the highest percent, in normal percents i should get 50%.
2. What have you learned or improved while learning percents this year?
Well for starters I learned multiple different ways to solve a percent word problem. I also learned that long division isn't all that bad, dont get me wrong its still pretty bad, but it just doesn't seem as terrifying as it did last year.
3. What is the value of showing your work in math?
You should always show your work in math. It shows the teacher that your not cheating, shows them that your either on the right track or not, and it shows them that you care.
4&5. What feedback did you get from the critique and how did the critique improve you work?
I was told that my handwriting was sloppy, my work wasn't organized, and they didn't understand the problem, which i thought was perfectly fine. Well as bad as I made it sound the person was a lot nicer then that, I did end up taking that and using it. My work, ended up at least 10 times better looking and I got my second draft done. Win.
6. What possible extensions to this work would be meaningful to you?
I think i would enjoy just having tricky word problems that would chalenge me, all the problems I think i sped right through.

My Life in Numbers
Challenge problems for my school.
1. What percent of your day do you spend at school
24 hours a day,
spend 6 hours and 30 minutes at school
24
2.What percent of your week do you spend at school?
There are 168 hours a week
I spend 168 divided by 27 = 6.8%
3. What percent of my parents week do they care for me?
15 hours driving, 21 hours cooking, 2 hours planing, 1 hour telling me what to do.
add it all up, and you get 45 hours a week
168 divided by 45 = 25% of their week doing something for me.
4. What percent of my year am i driving, watching, and playing baseball
2.5 hours a day on Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat
2.5 x 3 = 10
4.5 hours on Tues, Wed, Sun
4.5 x 3= 13.4 ----> 14
8765.81 hours a year.
10 + 14 = 24 x 52 (weeks in a year) = 1248
10% of my year goes into baseball.

Where my Dad is from...
My dad is from Arkansas
My dad is from Arkansas
My dad grew up along the Buffalo river in Northern Arkansas.
This is just a cabin that they had built in 2004 as a vacation home for them when ever we came to Arkansas. My dad is an extremely good river guide. I get to raft, canoe, and tube down the rapids almost every year. I'm kinda lucky that way.
